The Danube Delta is the second largest river delta and the best preserved in Europe. It also represents the newest form of relief of Romania. It became part of the UNESCO Heritage in 1991 and hosts an impressive number of plants and animals such as: cormorants, pelicans, reeds, lilies, etc.
The Danube River runs through 10 countries and four capitals: Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest and Belgrade being the most international river on the planet. It flows approximately 2860 km from its spring in the Black Forest Mountains, Germany spring until it gets to the Black Sea and forms the third largest biodiversity in the world.
